LD
Continuous Float Level Gauge
The LD float continuous level gauge operates by utilizing a magnetic float inside the float to alter the resistance within the main rod, which is combined with a reed switch to form a voltage divider circuit. This change is thereby converted into a voltage divider signal. The voltage divider signal can then be transformed by the level gauge into standard industrial signals such as 4-20mA for level detection. A smaller gap in the reed switch results in higher measurement accuracy. This level gauge can also be used in conjunction with other secondary instruments for remote indication, making it a level indicator with a simple principle and excellent reliability.
When selecting a model, users should also pay attention to the compatibility of the float material and other liquid-contacting components with the liquid.
When selecting a float ball based on the characteristics of the liquid being measured (such as operating temperature, pressure, specific gravity, acidity/alkalinity, etc.), users should choose the corresponding specifications from the float ball selection table.
1)Temperature:
PVC: Maximum operating temperature of 80°C
PP: Maximum operating temperature of 80°C
PVDF: Maximum operating temperature of 150°C
SUS304/316L: Maximum operating temperature of 200°C
2)Pressure:
Plastic float balls (e.g., PVC, PP, PVDF): Maximum pressure resistance of 5 kg/cm²
SUS304/316L float balls: Maximum pressure resistance of 40 kg/cm²
3)Viscosity:
For viscous liquids, it is recommended to select float balls with a larger diameter and lower specific gravity to overcome surface tension.
4)Acidity/Alkalinity:
Polypropylene (PP): Suitable for strong acidic/alkaline environments.
PVDF: Required for strong acidic/alkaline environments with temperatures above 80°C .
5)Alcohol/Oil Applications:
Stainless steel (SUS): Recommended for alcohol or oil-based liquids.
Food industry: Food-grade SUS316L (meeting hygiene standards) is required.
6)Specific Gravity (S.G.):
The specific gravity (S.G.) of the float ball must be less than the specific gravity of the measured liquid; otherwise, the float ball will not float .
